Kyoto。Autumn。Colours

Caught the last chance to see the autumn foliage this year at 2 spots in Kyoto – Tofuku-ji Temple and Kiyomizu-dera Temple

I read the autumn foliage update and these 2 spots were still the best time to see, but there were other spots where the autumn foliage was over, made me worried if it’s too late. Before I entered the Tofuku-ji Temple, I saw one full of red leaves at the entrance! My worry disappeared~ Even though there’s not much red inside the temple, I have already seen a red one. I haven’t wasted my time. LOL

It was so red inside the Tofuku-ji Temple! Some had already turned dark or fallen, but the overall was still red. Mixing together with some yellow, that’s as beautiful as a painting! What you can see from the Tsuten Bridge are red autumn leaves only. There’s no exaggeration. In the past, the cherry blossom trees inside the temple area were all deforested in order to prevent the temple from becoming an entertainment spot which hinder the practice of monks. From then on, whenever autumn comes, the view from the Tsuten Bridge is a “Red Sea” by autumn leaves.

I got addicted to the scenery in the Tofuku-ji Temple, then realized almost 2 hours had passed! I need to hurry up for the next destination because of early sunset in the winter time. After having a quick late lunch, I went to the Kiyomizu-dera Temple.

When I arrived, it’s exactly the sunset. The setting sun shone the Kiyomizu Stage surrounded by autumn leaves. Under the golden sky, the vivid autumn leaves lost some of their brightness. Everyone was focusing on the sunset. When the sun had completely set, all expressed their exclamation “oh”. I enjoyed a hot steamed green tea bun on the way back along the Kiyomizu-zaka. It’s strong green tea paste inside. For all green tea lovers, please have a try when you go there.
